The manual was developed as a result of a joint collaboration between Finn Church Aid (FCA) Uganda, local partner Uganda Muslim Youth Development Forum (UMYDF) and the Teachers Without Borders (TWB) network Finland. Core learning areas of the manual include Cooperation with 8 lessons and sub-topics, Conflict with 8 lessons and sub-topics, Peacebuilding with 6 lessons and sub-topics, Youth participation with 4 lessons and sub-topics, and Taking action with 6 lessons and sub-topics. The contents of the manual were successfully piloted with more than 480 young people in eight lower secondary school peace clubs established and run by UMYDF with the support of FCA. Two of the peace clubs are located in the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, one of the largest refugee settlements in the world. |

Prospect is proud to be the Uganda Chapter host of the Extremely Together Initiative of the Kofi Annan Foundation. The organisation is pleased to further visibility for Extremely Together’s resource for empowering young people to prevent violent extremism whose lead author was our very own Nanfuka Zulaika of Extremely Together Uganda Chapter. The resource is designed for young people who are already interested in the subject of preventing violent extremism and provides them with tools to conduct their own prevention training at their local level. It is based on Extremely Together’s years of experience training over 7,000 young people on the threat of violent extremism, its causes and what youth can do about it in Africa, Europe and Asia. Its available in both English and French.

The organisation is pleased to further visibility for UNCCT’s Key themes of the handbook include; Building and sustaining resilience at the community and individual level; Financial and non-financial assistance to victims of terrorism; Outreach and advocacy to better promote victim’s rights; and Raising victim’s voices in preventing violent extremism. |

Prospect is pleased to have been part of the local CSOs from Sub-Saharan Africa that contributed content and local case studies for the development of the UNDP PVE App and counter narratives toolkit for East and West Africa The mobile app provides a comprehensive set of tools on all stages of developing effective communication strategies, focusing on themes mostly relevant to analysis, strategy and messaging. It serves as a resource base for stakeholders intending to use communication means in an effort to counter and prevent violent extremism. |
