CONCERNS

Today threats to peace are at their highest, and conflicts have become more complex, intense and destructive. The worst effects of these conflicts have been borne by the most vulnerable of our world- children, women, youth, elderly, persons with disability and persons with chronic illnesses.

OUR SOLUTIONS

Our solutions have been multi-faceted, ranging from prevention, de-escalation, and recovery solutions geared toward containing the impact of violent conflicts, including violent extremism. These wide-ranging interventions have included initiatives in research & analysis; advancing the effective participation and leadership of women & youth in peacebuilding and P/CVE; empowering communities as key contributors to Peace & Security; bridging the gap between the state and the people; strengthening whole of government responses to preventing/countering violent extremism; capacitating homegrown CSOs to contribute to peace; and strategic communication. Additional interventions have aimed at strengthening human connectedness and friendships; expanding access to socio-economic opportunity for all; enhancing a positive media role in peacebuilding; and addressing consequences of violent conflict by enabling positive coping mechanisms for victims of terrorism and former combatants.

OUR GOALS

  • To contribute to prevention and reduction of violent conflict.

  • To strengthen the ability of individuals & communities to withstand and recover from adversities associated with violent conflicts.

  • To promote the incorporation of gender perspectives in peace & security programming.

  • To advance the meaningful participation, leadership, and protection of women and children in peacebuilding efforts.

  • To advance the meaningful participation, leadership, and protection of youth in peacebuilding efforts.

YOUTH PEACE & SECURITY

  • We host the premier Peace Gala & Awards, a platform through which we celebrate grassroots, and national actors with outstanding achievements and contributions to the fields of Peace, Security, and Humanitarian work.
